Senior Backend Engineer (Elixir)

📋 Description

• Lead major team projects for Remote's HR/Payroll products.
• Build tools, APIs, and integrations for our products.
• Backend with Elixir and Phoenix + Postgres.
• Frontend using React and Next.js; hosted on AWS.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain code quality; CI/CD via GitLab.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to shared codebase.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong engineering fundamentals; shipping secure, scalable systems.
• Experience designing automation workflows and iterating on them.
• Systems-thinking: define specs, plan, instrument verification.
• Postgres or similar database experience.
• CI/CD experience (GitLab, Github, Jenkins or similar).
• Demonstrates strong automation and AI fluency.
