Senior Backend Engineer (Elixir)

📋 Description

• Lead major team projects for Remote's HR/Payroll products.
• Build tools, APIs and integrations for Remote's products.
• Backend: Elixir/Phoenix; Postgres; Frontend: React/Next.js; AWS.
• GitLab-based version control, CI/CD; deployments several times daily on AWS.
• Work with cross-functional teams in an async setup.
• Architecture focus with ownership-driven observability.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong engineering fundamentals; ship secure, reliable, scalable systems.
• Experience designing or adopting automation workflows.
• Think in systems: define specs, break down plans, verify quality.
• Postgres (or similar).
• CI/CD experience (GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins or similar).
• Automation and AI capabilities and fluency.
