Senior Backend Engineer - Grant Underwriting and Payment

📋 Description

• Lead scaling of Grant Core systems powering underwriting decisions, payments, and collections.
• Own payment infrastructure across ACH, RTP, and card networks for reliability.
• Design scalable backend services for high throughput and low latency.
• Build data pipelines powering ML models and real-time decision engines.
• Collaborate with product and data science to ship impactful features.
• Work on architecture decisions balancing speed, reliability, and cost.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years building production backends and scaling systems.
• Strong systems design for distributed, high-throughput apps.
• Production experience with Sidekiq/Resque for background jobs.
• DB optimization, caching, and performance tuning expertise.
• Payment/fintech experience (ACH, real-time payments).
