Senior Battery Management System Controls Engineer

📋 Description

• Implement and validate models in MATLAB/Simulink per model-based design.
• Own battery control algorithms in Simulink; collaborate with software for embedded deployment.
• Lead system identification design and execution with battery echem teams.
• Define performance requirements and hardware interface specs for BMS.
• Support integration of BMS models into a system-level digital twin in Simulink.
• Travel for controls bring-up and testing on prototype testbeds (limited).

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years in controls engineering or related research.
• Battery models and state estimation (SOC/SOH/SOE).
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and Python.
• Strong foundation in dynamical systems and model-based design.
• Battery physics, power electronics, and thermal dynamics.
• Excellent technical communication and organizational skills.
