Senior Data Practice Lead

📋 Description

• Hands-on data engineering work: pipelines, transformations, infrastructure
• Adapting to client contexts: legacy migrations and greenfield lakehouses
• Guiding the wider team and unblocking hard technical problems
• Defining evolving internal standards for data work: testing, docs, code review
• Mentoring and growing data engineers across the company
• Travelling to client sites for workshops and representing YLD at data events

🎯 Requirements

• Leadership: led a team or function; acts as technical authority in client meetings
• Client-facing: comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders under pressure
• Cross-functional translator: translate engineering constraints into business terms
• Consulting background is a plus; strong stakeholder exposure elsewhere acceptable
• Technical depth: SQL, Python, data modelling, pipelines, orchestration
• Appetite to build a public presence in the data community and grow the practice
