Senior Data Scientist, Marketplace

📋 Description

• Partner with engineers, PMs, and stakeholders to frame problems and roadmaps.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to understand problems and the marketplace.
• Develop, fit, and evaluate time series forecasting and ML models.
• Write production model code; collaborate with engineers to scale models.
• Design and run backtests and live experiments; analyze results.
• Define and uplevel monitoring of model health; build tooling for operations.

🎯 Requirements

• MS or PhD in statistics, math, economics, OR related quantitative field.
• 5+ years in a tech company with a product focus.
• Proven experience building and evaluating time series and ML models.
• Strong ML fundamentals: feature engineering, evaluation, bias-variance tradeoff.
• Python proficiency with modern ML libraries; production coding.
• End-to-end data work: querying, aggregation, analysis, visualization.
• Passion for solving unstructured and non-standard mathematical problems.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to align stakeholders and influence outcomes through data.
