Senior Database Operations Engineer

📋 Description

• Act as SME for database engines, storage, and data placement.
• Lead SQL optimization; fix bottlenecks, indexes, and plans.
• Design/scale schemas using AWS RDS/Aurora and DynamoDB.
• Analyze DB internals, memory, replication lag, locking, and IO.
• Mentor teams; set standards for indexing and schema configurations.
• Collaborate with DB SRE to optimize queries and IaC.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field.
• 8+ years in database operations or data platforms.
• Deep experience with AWS RDS, Aurora and NoSQL (DynamoDB).
• Proficiency with monitoring tools: Datadog, CloudWatch, DevOps Guru.
• Proficient in Python or Java.
• Strong DB internals knowledge: indexes, schemas, query plans.
