Senior Director, Associate General Counsel

📋 Description

• Define and execute the strategy for GitLab's corporate and compliance legal function.
• Advise on governance, securities, equity strategy, exec compensation, and M&A.
• Build and lead a corporate legal team; foster async-first culture.
• Draft and maintain templates and policies for governance, filings, equity, and M&A.
• Own SEC reporting and disclosures; collaborate with Finance and external auditors.
• Manage outside counsel; drive cross-functional initiatives and AI-enabled workflows.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years in corporate law at multinational tech company (in-house/firm).
• J.D. or U.S. law degree with bar admission in at least one U.S. state.
• In-house public company experience with knowledge of the 33 Act, 34 Act, and SEC.
• Proven cross-functional partner with Finance, Stock Administration, Accounting, People, and Marketing.
• Experience advising executives and the board on governance, securities, equity compensation, and M&A.
• Fluency in applying AI tools to legal workflows and driving team adoption.
