Senior Director, Legal – AI, Privacy, Product, & IP

📋 Description

• Lead legal support for product development, IP portfolio, global privacy, and AI governance.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and design to ensure compliant, innovative offerings.
• Shape internal legal tech tools and advocate for scalable legal programs.
• Advise on data processing, licensing, and IP protection across global markets.
• Partner with outside counsel and manage legal budgets effectively.
• Drive policies balancing risk with business value in a fast-paced tech environment.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of legal experience, in-house at a SaaS/tech company preferred.
• Admitted to practice in at least one U.S. state or DC; in-house eligibility ok.
• Product counseling, IP management, and global privacy law expertise.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder communication skills.
• AI/ML experience and governance expertise a plus; open-source licensing knowledge required.
• Privacy certifications (e.g., CIPP/US, CIPP/E) encouraged.
