Senior Director, Risk and Underwriting (Payments/Fintech)

📋 Description

• Lead end-to-end risk and underwriting for card and A2A portfolios.
• Own risk frameworks, policies, and onboarding velocity.
• Manage sponsor bank and ODFI relationships; exam readiness.
• Partner with Compliance; align risk and governance.
• Drive integration of two risk frameworks post-acquisition.
• Enable growth with disciplined risk management.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years in risk/underwriting for payments or fintech.
• Direct ownership of merchant or A2A risk and underwriting.
• Hands-on sponsor bank and ODFI accountability.
• Fluency in fraud, chargebacks, AML, KYC, KYB governance.
• Comfort with AI and automation-driven underwriting.
• Credibility with auditors, partners, and executive leadership.
• Ability to lead small teams and scale the function.
