Senior Embedded Linux OS Engineer

📋 Description

• Maintain and improve Home Assistant OS support for Nabu Casa hardware.
• Collaborate with Hardware Team and Open Home Foundation to enable new hardware platforms.
• Support board bring-up: Buildroot config, BSPs, bootloader, and partitions.
• Optimize OS performance, hardware utilization, reliability.
• Maintain Buildroot-based build infrastructure for reproducible builds.
• Investigate platform-level issues including boot regressions, driver failures, and power-management defects.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong embedded Linux experience, including Buildroot, Yocto, or similar.
• Deep understanding of Linux OS, services, hardware bring-up, reliability.
• Experience with bootloaders, partitions, OTA updates, and device lifecycle.
• Cross-compilation toolchains and low-level debugging (serial, GDB, JTAG, scopes).
• Ability to read/write C/C++ for driver work.
• Strong Python skills for automation, tooling, and platform scripting.
