Senior Embedded Linux OS Engineer (America)

📋 Description

• Maintain and improve Home Assistant OS support for Nabu Casa hardware platforms.
• Collaborate with Home Assistant OS contributors and Open Home Foundation for support.
• Board bring-up: Buildroot config, BSPs, bootloader, partitions.
• Optimize OS performance, hardware utilization, stability.
• Upstream patches to Linux, U-Boot, Buildroot, or related projects.
• Work with Hardware Team to ensure OS support and compatibility.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong embedded Linux experience, including Buildroot, Yocto, or similar.
• Deep understanding of Linux, hardware bring-up, and platform reliability.
• Experience with bootloaders, partition layouts, OTA updates, and lifecycle.
• Cross-compilation toolchains and low-level debugging tools (serial, GDB, JTAG).
• Ability to read/write C/C++ for driver-level work.
• Strong Python skills for automation, tooling, and platform scripting.
