Senior Engineer, IAM

📋 Description

• Design, build, and evolve backend systems powering Postman’s identity and authentication platform.
• Own projects end to end: requirements, design, implementation, rollout, production support.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering to scope, build, test, and launch features.
• Improve reliability, scalability, observability, and operational readiness for owned services.
• Make trade-offs between speed, quality, and maintainability in a fast-moving environment.
• Lead execution for projects with 2–3 engineers, including task breakdown, guidance, and code reviews.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years building backend/distributed systems at scale.
• Design/operate production systems with reliability requirements.
• Own ambiguous problems and drive from idea to production.
• Lead or guide small teams of engineers on execution.
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, networking, data modeling, and design; write maintainable code.
• Familiar with authentication/identity/RBAC/security concepts; able to explain architectural trade-offs.
