Senior Engineering Manager, Estimation

📋 Description

• Own the roadmap for Hover's estimating product line end to end.
• Define two use cases: retail and restoration/insurance claims without forking the product or team.
• Lead the Estimates team (six engineers) and collaborate with product, design, and data groups.
• Move to a flexible estimating engine taking more input types (inspections/assessments).
• Reduce maintenance cost and integrate estimates into the main app, with standalone pricing work.
• Engage directly with enterprise customers to shape the roadmap.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years in software engineering with 4+ years leading engineering teams.
• Experience managing multiple teams or focus areas.
• Proven people management: hiring, leveling, coaching, performance conversations, promotions.
• Architecture experience and ability to defend decisions; familiarity with Ruby on Rails, React
• AI fluency in applying generative tooling in workflows and measuring impact.
