Senior Frontend Engineer - Editing Accessibility

📋 Description

• Design and build accessible Editor interactions (focus, keyboard nav, ARIA).
• Use screen readers daily to test, debug, and validate your work (VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS).
• Collaborate with the Editing Group to build accessible features from the start.
• Identify systemic accessibility gaps and architect long-term solutions.
• Share accessibility knowledge across teams to improve Canva's Editor.

🎯 Requirements

• Solid commercial experience building accessible web apps with WCAG in practice.
• Hands-on experience with screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS) and debugging.
• Work in a large frontend codebase; architecture, components, rendering with accessibility.
• Strong TypeScript and React skills; comfortable with component structure and accessibility.
• Clear cross-disciplinary communication; explain screen reader behavior to engineers and designers.
• Experience with WAI-ARIA patterns for complex widgets.
