Senior Fuel Handling Systems Design Engineer

📋 Description

• Lead design, integration, and qualification of fuel handling systems for advanced reactor projects.
• Coordinate analyses (thermal, seismic, structural, pipe stress, heat transfer) into plant designs.
• Provide mechanical system design direction for thermal and fluid requirements.
• Apply engineering codes and standards (ASME, ANS, ASTM, IEEE, NFPA).
• Guide nuclear and non-nuclear design practices, allocate regulatory requirements for complex
• Support project planning and ensure design schedules align with plant milestones.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related; 10+ years in mechanical systems design.
• Proven experience designing complex mechanical systems, especially nuclear fuel handling or similar
• Experience with nuclear reactors, fuel handling processes, high-performance environments.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design, system integration, and qualification processes.
• Experience with ASME Section III; knowledge of ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001 in design activities.
• Interpretation of industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements; strong technical writing
