Senior Hardware Product Packaging Engineer

📋 Description

• Own customer-facing and enterprise-ready packaging from concept to mass production across Skydio's
• Design packaging parts and assemblies in 3D CAD, including cushion geometry, cavity fits, trays
• Partner with industrial design, product management, and marketing to craft an unboxing and use
• Engage with mechanical, electrical, battery and material flow engineering to keep product safe and
• Interface with and own technical activity at vendors in partnership with operations and supply
• Design for a broad set of packaging processes and make the call on which one fits, including

🎯 Requirements

• Prior packaging or product development experience with a proven track record of execution
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, packaging engineering, or equivalent with demonstrated
• Mastery of 3D CAD, specifically as used in developing complex assemblies; CATIA preferred.
• Fluency in 2D structural design and artwork workflows: die lines, dieline-to-print handoff, and
• Demonstrated ability to design for packaging manufacturing processes (corrugated and folding
• Hands-on prototyping instinct: willing to knife-cut a carton, hot-wire a foam block, or spin a
