Senior Instrument Systems Engineer

📋 Description

• Lead instrument architecture trades; define concepts of operations and radiometric budget; V&V planning.
• Develop/manage budgets including mass, power, thermal, pointing/jitter, and data with margins.
• Develop ICDs across mechanical, thermal, electrical, and software interfaces.
• Support optical instrument AI&T planning and implementation; collaborate with teams.
• Champion continuous improvement of systems engineering methodologies and tools.
• Collaborate with subsystems engineers, instrument and spacecraft engineers, AI&T and production teams, PMs, partners, and stakeholders.

🎯 Requirements

• B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in a multi-disciplinary environment with imaging systems, infrared remote sensing instruments, and spacecraft.
• Software skills in Python and/or Julia.
• Experience with root cause analysis including data analysis and testing.
• Experience performing data analysis, post-processing, and test report generation.
• Ability to obtain TS/SCI security clearance; active clearance preferred.
