Senior Mechanical Engineer - Actuation (Dexterity)

📋 Description

• Lead design and analysis of actuators (rotary and linear) for robotic hand hardware.
• Own selection and packaging of electric motors, bearings, drivetrains, and encoders.
• Collaborate with a small cross-disciplinary team to advance actuation concepts.
• Perform analysis (FEA) to optimize and validate designs; iterate from concept to test.
• Create GD&T-informed drawings, BOMs, and procurement docs; produce assembly instructions.
• Pilot-build designs and perform root-cause analysis to resolve issues; ensure DFMA and scalability.

🎯 Requirements

• Mastery of engineering fundamentals / first principles.
• High CAD proficiency (NX, SolidWorks, Creo, or similar).
• Hands-on prototyping and testing of mechanical components.
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork; ability to multitask in a startup.
• Knowledge of kinematics, dynamics, joints/mechanisms, electromechanical packaging optimization.
• Experience in linear transmissions (ballscrews) and robotic hand/gripper design.
