Senior Payroll & Compliance Specialist

📋 Description

• Run two payroll cycles end to end - weekly for fulfillment center and hourly showroom teams
• Audit every pre-process register before funding and resolve discrepancies with payroll partner
• Handle employee paycheck questions and route within one business day
• Own U.S. compliance calendar through annual filings (EEO-1, CA Pay Data, OSHA 300)
• Translate legislative changes across ~35 states into applicable actions and brief People team
• Run background checks and quarterly health exclusion checks

🎯 Requirements

• 5–8 years in payroll and compliance, including 3+ years running multi-state U.S. payroll
• Experience running multi-state U.S. payroll end to end in an enterprise HRIS (Paylocity or
• Experience owning a compliance calendar (EEO-1, OSHA, nondiscrimination testing, state reporting)
• Experience with background checks, I-9 review, required trainings, and policy creation
• Direct experience with California or New York employment law is a strong plus
• Ability to turn legal redlines into usable policy, working with Legal and outside counsel
