📋 Description

• Lead the development of Railway's block storage systems
• Support storage systems operations and on-call rotations
• Specify storage server hardware
• Build systems for capacity planning
• Design interfaces with orchestration for online backups and live migration
• Write Engineering Requirements to define tasks and monitoring

🎯 Requirements

• You've built and operated distributed storage systems with first-principles
• Strong systems engineering in filesystems, block devices, kernel I/O paths, SPDK, io_uring, vhost-user-blk, ublk
• Deep understanding of algorithms for fast, reliable storage systems
• Experience building large distributed systems with strong consistency
• Strong background in performance engineering at the Linux I/O layer
• Strong foundation in systems programming with Rust
