Senior / Principal Data Scientist - Discovery

📋 Description

• Own ranking initiatives powering Discovery canvases.
• Develop ML ranking solutions for long-term ecosystem health.
• Partner with Product and Engineering as primary scientific advisor.
• Apply causal inference methods to measure platform initiatives.
• Build scalable frameworks to match rapid experimentation velocity.
• Balance visibility of top-tier experiences with new UGC content.

🎯 Requirements

• Advanced degree (Masters/PhD) in Statistics, CS, Physics, Applied Math, or Economics.
• 10+ years in Data Science, Economics, or ML Engineering in large-scale rec systems or UGC platforms (6+ with PhD).
• Expert in Python, R, SQL, Hive, Spark, Airflow; strong Deep Learning foundation.
• Ability to design experiments that account for two-sided marketplace and social network effects.
• Ability to distill high-dimensional problems into succinct narratives for non-technical executives.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with Product and Engineering teams.
