Senior R&D Software Engineer, Fivetran AI

📋 Description

• Research retrieval, reasoning, and agentic AI; guide roadmap decisions
• Prototype ideas quickly and turn them into production features
• Build and maintain backend and frontend for Fivetran AI
• Own production reliability: on-call, incident response, SRE work
• Collaborate with product and design to shape the AI tooling roadmap
• Write tests and perform hands-on QA to catch issues early

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of Python and/or Java, with ability to move between backend and frontend
• Trusted expert; capable of executing complex, ambiguous tasks with minimal hand-holding
• Comfortable reading AI/ML research; turn findings into prototypes
• Strong product/market awareness; judge which techniques are worth building
• Experience with SQL and data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks)
• Willingness to work across full stack: research, backend, frontend, SRE, QA
• Writes well-structured, performant code and can dive into unfamiliar codebases
• Experience using coding agents or AI tooling to speed up day-to-day engineering work
