Senior Research Scientist, Machine Learning (BioFM)

📋 Description

• Lead design and training of BioFMs on large genomic datasets.
• Collaborate with biologists and drug developers to embed priors into models.
• Implement, train, debug, and evaluate large-scale models for health research.
• Stay current with ML and computational biology to find cross-disciplinary applications.
• Mentor junior scientists and engineers through leadership and reviews.
• Share findings via internal talks and publications.

🎯 Requirements

• PhD or equivalent in computational biology, ML, CS, or related field.
• Deep learning for biological data; CNNs, Transformers, sequence models.
• Built and scaled AI models for complex biological data.
• Proficient with PyTorch for training and debugging.
• Experience with massive datasets and scale challenges.
• Excellent communication with ML and biology teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• First-author publications in high-impact journals or ML/CompBio confs.
• 2+ years post-grad experience in industrial R&D or academia genomics AI.
• Experience leading projects or mentoring junior researchers.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (GCP) for large-scale training.
• Open-source contributions in ML or computational biology projects.
