Senior Research Scientist, Perception

📋 Description

• You will lead research on Multimodal LLMs and World models for 3D Perception using sensor data from
• Integrate emerging AI research into Waymo’s Encoders and Sensor understanding models.
• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines for Training & Eval from multiple sources.
• Design and implement evaluation frameworks for perception models.
• Study model behaviors, scaling efficacy, and architecture ablations to inform deployments.
• Design Perception Modeling solutions to interpret LiDAR/Camera/Radar data from autonomous vehicle

🎯 Requirements

• PhD or Masters in CS, ML, Robotics, or similar field with 2+ years of RL or Foundation Models
• Demonstrated original contributions via publications, blog posts, or open-source work.
• Proficiency in scalable training flows (Data parallel, FSDP, sharding).
• Willingness to work with globally distributed inference infrastructure.
