Senior Search Engineer

📋 Description

• Own the search platform: design, operate, and evolve the Elasticsearch cluster.
• Build tooling and APIs others rely on to support retrieval across teams.
• Shape the search strategy; influence roadmap with product and leadership.
• Mentor engineers, review code, and contribute to architectural decisions.

🎯 Requirements

• Production ownership of a search platform built on Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, Solr, Vespa, or Lucene.
• Experience designing and building search infrastructure, data pipelines, APIs, and operational tooling.
• Ability to build for other engineers with tooling, APIs, or platform capabilities.
• Strong collaboration across teams; translate needs into capabilities and explain trade-offs.
• It would be great if you also have: Experience with Python and modern web frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Pydantic).
• Familiarity with distributed systems concepts and cloud-managed search deployments (Elastic Cloud/AWS).
