Senior Software Engineer, Core Reliability

📋 Description

• Own design and delivery of reliability projects across Coinbase.
• Partner with T0/T1 services to improve scalability and reduce toil.
• Build systems that securely manage service configurations and secrets at scale.
• Improve canary release systems and expand deployment capabilities for thousands of services.
• Drive reliability best practices across engineering teams.
• Lead high-impact reliability initiatives to increase safety for customers.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years building production services in SOA with Ruby, Go, Terraform and AWS/GCP/Azure.
• Design/operate reliable, high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems with well-tested code.
• Observability tools (Kibana, Datadog) to debug incidents and tune performance.
• Communicate architecture decisions to cross-functional engineers.
• Participate in on-call rotations and after-hours support.
• Use generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve workflows.
