Senior Software Engineer, Frontend Platform

📋 Description

• Own the long-term technical direction of Roo's frontend platform, systems, tooling, and architecture.
• Partner with Product and Design to evolve our design system as a foundational platform.
• Make the design system effortless to consume via integrations, docs, tooling, and workflows.
• Lead platform initiatives like framework upgrades, React Native modernization, Expo adoption, and shared library evolution.
• Migrate legacy components to the v2 design system with tooling and docs for self-migration.
• Establish patterns to ship new pages and flows quickly from a component library.

🎯 Requirements

• Significant experience building production software, including frontend systems.
• Strong React and TypeScript fundamentals; able to work across frontend, backend, tooling, and platform infra when needed.
• React Native or mobile experience.
• Experience collaborating with designers and modern design systems; proficient with Figma.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude) and leveraging them to move faster.
• Ability to own a technical roadmap and operate without heavy PM guidance.
