Senior Software Engineer - Kubernetes & Service Mesh

📋 Description

• Architect, design, and deploy Roku’s cloud platform and service mesh.
• Build and own solutions using Docker, Kubernetes, Istio/Envoy, Terraform, scripting.
• Drive research and implementation of new tech for scalability, reliability, and DX.
• Migrate workloads to Kubernetes + Istio with internal teams; collaborate with Observability.
• Build tooling to visualize inefficiencies and optimize costs across shared-tenancy clusters.
• Mentor teammates and define best practices for infrastructure and automation.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with cloud tech (AWS preferred; GCP/Azure a plus).
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes (EKS, GKE, AKS) and service mesh technologies.
• Proficiency in Go or Python and scripting.
• Infrastructure design and automation tools development; CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with observability tools (Prometheus, Thanos, Loki, Grafana).
• Ability to work independently and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
