Senior Software Engineer - Search Relevance in ES|QL - Elasticsearch

📋 Description

• Lead initiatives to deliver fast, relevant search in Elasticsearch.
• Design and implement new search features; fix bugs; set technical direction.
• Build robust search experiences, including vector-search capabilities and Lucene integration.
• Work with a globally distributed team across continents, using email, GitHub, Zoom, and Slack.
• Collaborate to iterate on architecture and data structures; optimize performance.
• Write idiomatic, maintainable Java and work on OS/hardware interactions as needed.

🎯 Requirements

• Experience with search or vector databases; used HNSW, IVF, or similar algorithms.
• Strong Java skills: core language, data structures, concurrency, and lambdas.
• Experience with Elasticsearch-based workloads; familiarity with Lucene.
• Hands-on with storage technologies like Elasticsearch, Solr, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra.
• Ability to design and own cross-functional initiatives; autonomous and proactive.
