Senior/Staff Backend Engineer, Applied AI

📋 Description

• Define and prioritize Fora's Applied AI roadmap with PM and Designer.
• Design/build MCP tooling exposing Fora's data and service layers with guardrails.
• Build and harden agent orchestration plus tool-calling loops and streaming.
• Improve reliability of non-deterministic systems via evals, tracing, and logging.
• Focus on performance, latency, architecture, and clean code; ensure smooth tool calls.
• Collaborate across AI services, the Django platform, and portal frontend.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's in CS or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years backend web development experience.
• 3+ years Python with Django/Flask or similar.
• Strong API and distributed systems design; relational DBs and ORMs.
• Curiosity and drive to dive deep in applied AI.
• Team player with strong communication and collaboration.
• Entrepreneurial mindset; comfortable with ambiguity and fast iteration.
