Senior/Staff Controls Engineer

📋 Description

• Translate planned trajectories into safe, precise real-world motions for L4 autonomous driving
• Design and deploy production controls software powering autonomous driving on vehicles globally.
• Collaborate with autonomy, hardware, and systems teams to solve complex problems.
• Develop production-level control software following safety standards (ISO 26262).
• Interface planner and controller with new vehicle platforms and drive performance improvements.
• Explore ML for vehicle dynamics and controls to enhance drivability and bringups.

🎯 Requirements

• MS or Ph.D. in mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, aerospace, robotics, or related field (Ph.D.
• 5+ years of industry experience, 3+ years in L2+ or higher automated driving controls at scale.
• Deep knowledge of vehicle dynamics, controls theory, and testing.
• Experience with classical or modern controls methods and/or ML for controls.
• Strong embedded C (preferred) or C++ programming skills.
• Solid math/physics background and analytical skills; comfortable with GenAI-assisted workflows.
