Senior Staff Engineer, Hydrogen Safety Architecture

📋 Description

• Author, own, and sign off on Hazardous Zone Analyses (HZA) for multi-MW installations.
• Architect hydrogen venting, dilution, and leak mitigation per safety standards.
• Oversee adjacent fluids subsystems (thermal, O2 airflow, electrolyte) for risk.
• Own system P&IDs from concept to production-ready documentation.
• Perform CFD/dispersion analyses and validation for safety and performance.
• Liaise with internal compliance, AHJs, and regulators to secure certifications.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or related technical field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• 8+ years in industry, incl. 3+ years commercializing hydrogen safety.
• Deep knowledge of NFPA 2, NFPA 69, IEC 60079, UL9540, UL1973 (or equivalents).
• Proven ability to manage complex mechanical architectures and P&ID version control.
• Excellent communication to influence cross-functional teams and regulators.
