Senior/Staff Homologation Engineer

📋 Description

• Identify regs for autonomous vehicles (FMVSS, EU, UNECE, and others)
• Manage requirements in a formal requirements management tool
• Lead assessment of compliance and interpretation of standards for design and validation
• Collaborate with legal to document interpretations
• Collaborate with test engineers, labs, and services to confirm interpretations and test procedures
• Support on-site certification tests (occasional travel)
• Draft compliance docs and reports
• Monitor regulatory changes and support Zoox advocacy

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in vehicle homologation
• Strong understanding of US and European regulations, esp passive safety
• Creativity to apply existing conventional regulations to novel vehicle designs
• Strong analytical skills to develop effective solutions
• Strong understanding of vehicle system design and function
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
