Senior / Staff Manufacturing Engineer - Body (Body-in-White)

📋 Description

• Develop and implement body assembly equipment, tools, and scalable processes.
• Lead block planning and factory layouts to optimize footprint, material flow, and utilities.
• Collaborate with Vehicle Engineering in early design to influence DFM.
• Define and validate BIW assembly processes, including joining, adhesives, fastening.
• Create and maintain process docs, including FMEA, control plans, and SOPs.
• Act as liaison with external equipment integrators for validation and commissioning.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 8 years in manufacturing engineering launching BIW lines.
• Expertise in automotive joining technologies, automated framing systems, and GD&T.
• Experience with specs and deliverables for automation partners; travel for buyoffs/line installs.
• Proficiency in CATIA and AutoCAD.
