Senior Staff Software Engineer, Backend

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Product to prioritise customer-focused work.
• Design and own backend services and APIs for Harvey's apps.
• Model and manage data in PostgreSQL for low-latency UX.
• Build secure, multi-tenant, permissions-aware systems.
• Implement backend features using LLMs and agentic tools.
• Collaborate with frontend, product, and design to ship features end-to-end.

🎯 Requirements

• 15+ years of backend engineering experience in production web apps or SaaS.
• Proven SaaS growth by leveraging PWA technologies.
• Track record of shipping intuitive products with strong attention to detail.
• Strong Python skills with FastAPI or Flask.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL relational databases.
• API design, auth, background jobs, and robust error handling.
• Experience with cloud providers: Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Experience running production services with logs, metrics, dashboards, alerts; on-call rotation.
