Senior/Staff Software Engineer - Data Platform

📋 Description

• Build the Capability Factory internal platform to teach HMND robots from data to capabilities.
• Curate, preprocess, and manage large-scale datasets for robot training toward petabyte scale.
• Design and operate scalable data pipelines and compute infrastructure for reliability and throughput.
• Ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency of training data across projects.
• Collaborate with ML teams to shape the Capability Factory and streamline MLOps.
• Build data warehouse solutions and BI dashboards for visibility into data and model health.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience delivering complex systems end-to-end.
• Strong backend engineering: APIs, data modeling, error handling, and performance under load.
• PB+ scale data engineering: pipelines that move, transform, and validate large data volumes; batch/streaming; schema evolution.
• Workflow orchestration at scale: multi-step pipelines with retries, observability, and graceful failure handling.
• Distributed systems fundamentals: eventual consistency, idempotency, backpressure, scheduling, and failure modes.
• Cloud infrastructure fluency: major cloud provider with focus on cost, reliability, and security.
