Senior Systems Engineer, Fail Operational Safety Strategy

📋 Description

• Define and own fail-operational safety strategy for new ODDs and environments.
• Design and maintain fault response strategies to keep vehicle safe during faults.
• Build a framework to assess fault handling effectiveness; define resilience metrics.
• Collaborate with software/hardware engineers and operations for holistic safety.
• Leverage AI/LLM tools to speed analysis and automate repetitive tasks.

🎯 Requirements

• B.S. or higher in Systems Engineering, Robotics, CS, or EE with 8+ years.
• Strong systems engineering background; requirements management and architecture experience.
• Deep fault detection, isolation, and recovery; redundancy and graceful degradation.
• Strong analytical skills in quantitative analysis, modeling, metrics, and trade-offs.
• Excellent communication and documentation; cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience with autonomous vehicle development or complex robotics.
