Senior Systems Engineer, Virtualization

📋 Description

• Design and build the Linux-based execution environment for CoreWeave's AI platform.
• Work across Linux kernel, KVM/QEMU, container runtimes, GPUs, and Kubernetes.
• Develop secure sandboxed runtimes for GPU workloads.
• Extend virtualization to support new hardware capabilities and GPU sharing.
• Build tooling to observe and diagnose the stack end-to-end.
• Improve startup, isolation, and latency for AI workloads.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years building production systems software, platform infra, or Linux-based distributed systems.
• Strong Linux systems knowledge: namespaces, cgroups, scheduling, memory, filesystems, networking.
• Experience with virtualization tech: KVM, QEMU, VFIO, Kata, KubeVirt, gVisor.
• Experience building/operating Kubernetes platforms and container runtimes at scale.
• Strong systems programming in Go, Rust, or C/C++.
• Experience profiling with perf, eBPF, ftrace, bpftrace, flame graphs.
