Senior Vehicle Structures Engineer

📋 Description

• Develop vehicle body structures using cold/hot stamping, casting, and hydroforming to guide future
• Create layouts and package studies in 3D CAD/Catia V6 to support production part development.
• Recommend materials and validate with in-house CAE teams to meet structural requirements.
• Present multiple solutions balancing piece price and tooling investment to inform decisions.
• Collaborate with internal Waymo teams to identify future supply partners from a global base.

🎯 Requirements

• Experience with vehicle manufacturers or Tier 1 suppliers in product development or engineering
• Launched multiple cars and managed production ramp/launch problem solving.
• Strong collaboration with suppliers; experience with DFM during tooling launches.
• Ability to drive conversations/meetings with examples from Benchmark/competitor vehicles.
• Understanding of body assembly strategies and sequencing for component shingling.

🎁 Benefits

• Base salary range: $198,000 – $248,000 USD (varies by location).
