Software Engineer, AI Enablement

📋 Description

• Partner with leadership to define AI enablement priorities and roadmap.
• Work on Aperture by Tailscale, our AI gateway.
• Build and iterate internal tools and workflows for AI tooling.
• Evaluate AI models and tools; provide adoption recommendations.
• Collaborate with teams to find high-leverage AI opportunities.
• Develop infra, guardrails, and docs for safe AI-generated code.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Daily hands-on fluency with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Pi)
• Experience building internal tools or developer automation
• Strong written and verbal communication and advocacy skills
• Go or Rust experience in addition to Python
• Comfortable with ambiguity and self-directed prioritization on a small team
