Software Engineer, AI Enablement

📋 Description

• Define internal AI enablement priorities and roadmap with engineering leadership.
• Collaborate on Aperture by Tailscale, our internal AI gateway.
• Build and iterate internal AI tooling, workflows, and coding-agent practices.
• Evaluate AI models and tools; make clear adoption recommendations.
• Partner with teams to apply AI to day-to-day work and help them ship faster.
• Develop guardrails and documentation for safe AI-generated code.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on fluency with AI coding tools: Claude Code, Codex, Pi.
• Experience building internal tools or developer-facing automation.
• Strong written and verbal communication and advocacy skills.
• Comfort with ambiguity and self-directed prioritization.
• Product or systems thinking — identify high-leverage opportunities.
