Software Engineer, Backend - Core/API & Process Automation

📋 Description

• Build/evolve features in event-sourced engine and REST/gRPC APIs
• Own end-to-end work: implement, test, and ship; write ADRs
• Ship high-impact engine features: suspend/resume, AI steering, tracing
• Design clean APIs with backward compatibility
• Detect/optimize data access across RocksDB and Elasticsearch/OpenSearch
• Flag issues and tech debt; participate in reviews/on-call

🎯 Requirements

• Ability/willingness to use Camunda product
• 2+ years professional backend engineering experience
• Strong event-driven systems and event sourcing
• Good API design instincts (REST)
• Product thinking: care about outcomes for users
• Strong manager-of-one; remote/async self-directed
• High growth mindset; tackle unfamiliar challenges
• Clear written communication in a remote-first, async setting
