Software Engineer II, Platform Engineering

📋 Description

• Ship foundational services to enable faster engineering movement.
• Design platform primitives (infra, databases, queuing) aligned with the platform vision.
• Improve availability, scalability, latency, and cost efficiency of core platforms to meet SLOs.
• Design and develop systems for highly available, scalable applications.
• Leverage Python, Go, AWS, and Kubernetes to advance Klaviyo's platform.
• Pair with engineers to boost performance, self-healing, and cost efficiency.

🎯 Requirements

• BA or BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years operating and scaling complex distributed systems.
• Experience in a cloud-native environment.
• Proven experience developing applications in Python and/or Go.
• Fundamental understanding of Linux and networking.
• Experience with Kubernetes, IaC, API gateways, and observability.
• Exposure to measuring and optimizing infrastructure cost and efficiency.
• Exposure to data ecosystem such as ClickHouse, DynamoDB, MySQL, Kafka.
