Software Engineer, Upstart Bank

📋 Description

• Design, build, test, and maintain backend systems and APIs.
• Partner with Product, Compliance, Risk, and other teams to deliver scalable software in a regulated environment.
• Help launch and scale Upstart Bank, an AI-enabled national bank.
• Participate in technical design discussions and grow ownership.
• Support reliability and observability across backend services.
• Work in a regulated environment with cross-functional teams.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, Math, or related field.
• 2+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience building production backend or full-stack systems.
• Experience with APIs, backend services, or web apps.
• Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Python, Go, or similar.
• Strong design, testing, debugging, and ownership fundamentals.
