Space Lasers Engineer, Satellites (Starlink)

📋 Description

• Apply optics and photonics to optical system development
• Represent the optical system in program-level trades and issue resolution
• Define requirements for high-performant optical systems in challenging environmental conditions
• Lead optical architecture definition through internal trade studies and risk testing
• Participate in verification testing and environmental qualification
• Define and lead field testing of optical experiments and laser communication systems

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in physics, computer science, electrical engineering, or related STEM
• 2+ years in optics, photonics, laser tech, or precision design/testing
• 1+ years programming in C++, MATLAB, or Python
• Proficiency with Zemax or equivalent optical analysis tool
• Experience with free-space optical systems and laser communication
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, autonomous, demanding environment
