Sr. Commissions Accountant

📋 Description

• Account for sales commissions per ASC 340-40; ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Analyze commission plans, arrangements, and contracts to determine capitalization.
• Collaborate with Sales, Sales Ops, Payroll, and FP&A to assess commission implications.
• Prepare and maintain documentation for commission accounting policies.
• Assist in implementing and enhancing commission management software.
• Conduct periodic reviews of commission-related accounts, including clawbacks.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent is a plus.
• 3-5 years in commissions or revenue accounting; software industry preferred; Big 4 a plus.
• Thorough understanding of ASC 340-40 and costs of obtaining a contract.
• Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork across departments.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; NetSuite and Salesforce a bonus.
