Sr. Database Engineer, Postgre SQL/AWS Aurora

📋 Description

• Serve as PostgreSQL and AWS Aurora SME, guiding architecture and performance.
• Manage and optimize large relational DBs with complex schemas and high data volume.
• Review changes, migrations, and schema updates for safety and scalability.
• Investigate production DB issues: slow queries, locking, replication challenges.
• Improve SQL performance with indexing, execution plans, and tuning.
• Automate recurring DB maintenance and monitoring workflows.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years with production relational DBs; 8+ years preferred.
• Strong PostgreSQL experience; AWS Aurora PostgreSQL required.
• Advanced SQL: joins, CTEs, indexes, transactions, locking.
• Experience with large-scale databases and real-world workloads.
• Diagnose performance via query costs, locks, indexing gaps, usage patterns.
• Knowledge of migrations, schema design, access controls, safety, risk management.
