Sr. Manager, Engineering Configuration Platform Team

📋 Description

• Lead a team shaping how engineers ship, ramp, and roll back changes daily
• Improve incident resilience with guardrails, validation, and rollout patterns
• Reduce MTTR via automated mitigations and health-mediated releases
• Evolve the Configuration Platform UX (UI, CLI, agentic) for safe changes
• Grow the team toward Staff and Principal levels, attracting top talent
• Collaborate with senior engineers on design reviews and roadmaps

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years managing backend/infrastructure or platform teams of ~7-15 engineers
• Strong distributed systems background: Java/Scala services, RPC, Kubernetes microservices, multi-cloud
• Hands-on EM disposition: stays close to code, leads design reviews, uses AI-assisted coding
• Track record growing and retaining high-performing teams
• Comfortable partnering with senior engineers on design reviews and cross-team execution
• Operational experience owning a high-availability platform with on-call and incident response
• Product thinking for developers: UX, rollout policies, safety vs velocity
• BS in Computer Science (Masters or higher preferred)
