Sr. Tax Accountant (CPA)

📋 Description

• Prepare and review complex federal/state returns for individuals, partnerships, S corps, C corps, trusts.
• Provide advanced tax planning, research, and consulting.
• Conduct tax consultations with clients, explaining positions and planning opportunities.
• Ensure full compliance with federal/state/local tax laws; timely filings and payments.
• Respond to client inquiries and notices; support examinations with documentation.
• Review returns prepared by junior staff; provide guidance and mentorship.
• Research complex tax issues and monitor regulatory changes; apply updates.
• Maintain accurate client tax files and workpapers using tax software.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support accounting, advisory, payroll, or operations.
• Identify opportunities to improve tax workflows and efficiency.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment and client service.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's a plus.
• CPA license required.
• 4-5+ years tax prep and planning, preferably in public accounting.
• Strong experience preparing and reviewing individual and business returns.
• Full-cycle accounting or bookkeeping experience a strong plus.
• Knowledge of federal/state income tax laws; international tax exposure a plus.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks and tax software such as UltraTax.
• Analytical, organized, problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Dependable, self-driven, and able to work independently.
• Positive, team-oriented; ability to mentor junior staff.
• High perseverance and end-result-oriented work habits.
• Fast learner with ability to master new concepts and regulations quickly.
